Your body’s health is a direct reflection of the ingredients you put into it and the best way for it to be in optimal physical form is by feeding it nutritiously. Juicing is an efficient and effective way of providing your body the power it needs to keep you on top of your game.
Before some genius invented cubicles and greasy hamburgers, people ate foods in its most natural form: fresh, nutritious, unprocessed, mostly raw, and with great variety. In fact, there are some societies in parts of the world that no one else cares about who still eat that way and by comparing the types of diseases in modernized societies, it’s understood that what you eat makes a huge difference in your health.
The greatest advantage to juicing is the increase in potency of the nutrients, minerals, and other good stuff contained in the ingredients. Of course we also need the fiber that comes from consuming the solids of the fruit and vegetables as well; juicing gives your body the ability to make the most out the essential minerals and vitamins.
Because juice is a liquid form, the nutrients and vitamins and minerals are more accessible with minimal processing inside the body. This ensures that much more can be absorbed into your body before it does its round in your digestive tract and less is wasted than if it was encased in solid. It is much easier for your body to extract the good stuff from liquid than it is to extract from hard fibrous particles that make up the solid of the fruits and vegetables.
Obviously, the juice contains a lot of water. That is another advantage to juicing because we all know our bodies need a lot of water to function properly. The problem is most people go through the day dehydrated and don’t even know it. If we juice daily at the very least we are adding to the amount of water that is available to replenish our bodies. Water is the medium through which toxins are flushed.
To make sure that you are getting the most out of juicing, always use organically grown produce without pesticides or chemical fertilizers. We already are full of toxins and would like to flush some out, not put anymore in. It’s important to use high quality ingredients in our juice as well as for consumption in its solid form.
Also, the ingredients should be as fresh as possible, there is a statistic stating that by the time the consumer takes the food home, on average, the food is already a few weeks old. So while it’s probably impossible to get fruit right off the vine, tree, or whatever the fruiting parent is, in almost all areas there are local farmers and markets that sell local produce which have shorter trips to travel to get to you.
Just as you want your produce to be fresh, always drink your juices fresh as well. Drink your juice within the hour of making it if possible. But never drink something more than a day old.
