The benefits of juicing are all factors of the ingredients you put into. While each category of ingredients has its own strengths, overconsumption of anything is dangerous. So it is important, just like eating, that we try as wide a variety of foods as possible. Constantly look for new juicer recipes and try fruits and vegetables you’ve never seen before.

The great thing about juicing is that it people who normally don’t like the taste or texture of certain fruits find it much more appealing when it comes in liquid form.

The primary reason vegetables juicing is recommended over fruit juicing is because of the high levels of sugar in fruits. For some people who must watch their sugar levels fruit juicing adds too much sugar into their daily intake. Fruits also lack chlorophyll which is a reason for anyone to consume lots of green.

Chlorophyll provides many health benefits and is a very important compound to promoting the well being of the body. It serves as a cleanser, antiseptic, cell stimulator, cell rejuvenator, and help in the building process of red blood cells. To plants chlorophyll serves key functions. For one it makes the plant green and that’s all we care to know really, other than its good for you.

All the benefits that chlorophyll provides to the body are actually the function of hemoglobin in the blood. And because hemoglobin is so similar in its chemical composition to chlorophyll, many experiments have shown that when we consume chlorophyll our bodies actually convert it to hemoglobin. More hemoglobin means healthier blood.

Some of the immediate benefits of consuming sufficient amounts of chlorophyll include increased blood count, alleviating blood sugar problems, and relieving gastric ulcers. Simply, your blood does a lot to keep your body running smoothly and tries to balance out all the crap you put in your body. By consuming chlorophyll, you are giving your blood what it needs work properly.

Knowing that chlorophyll is what makes vegetables green, any vegetable contains chlorophyll and more in more green vegetables. But the ultimate richest sources of chlorophyll are from alfalfa, barley grass, chlorella, spirulina and wheatgrass. Depending on where you’re from some of these produces may not be readily available. Do your best to vary the ingredients in your juice regularly.

Chlorella is especially important as it is high in vitamin B12, something that many vegetarians lack if they are not careful about taking supplements or finding other sources of vitamin B12. It’s a vitamin that is found mostly in animal products but is also contained in chlorella. If you can’t get a hold of chlorella there are chlorella tablets that many juicers will crush into powder and add to juices. This allows for nutrients to be absorbed into the body most effectively.
